Plenary meeting of the BioHub® programme in Lestrem

An opportunity to emphasise the significant advances made with the works concerning isosorbide and its derivatives, the industrial biotechnology projects with methionine and glycolic acid, not forgetting the production of succinic acid.
 | On 26 January 2010 a plenary meeting of the BioHub® programme was held in Lestrem in the facilities of the new DeltaHub building, in the presence of OSEO Innovation and all our industrial and institutional partners. |
with the works concerning in particular isosorbide and its derivatives, with development started in the field of polymers and plasticizers for PVC (POLYSORB® ID 37) that justifies Roquette’s decision to invest in order to increase the isosorbide production capacity by the beginning of 2011.
The industrial biotechnology projects were also highlighted, thanks to the carrying out of pilot tests in 2009 both for methionine and glycolic acid (1), not forgetting the successful launch of the demo-plant for the production of succinic acid (Succinium™ project).
So many concrete elements that enable us to advance with confidence towards the pre-industrialisation and pre-marketing phase of these new products.
The day ended with a visit to the biotechnology laboratories in the L5 building, the pilot plant P17 and the isosorbide production unit P18.
